McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Bettye Sue Patton, 81, was born Aug. 5, 1940 and died Dec. 28, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park in McMinnville following an extended illness.
The owner of Patton Welding Supplies and member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of the late Bertle and Lena Mae Rutledge Miller. She was married to Allen Patton, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Jimmy Patton, brother William Earl Miller, and sister Diana George.
Mrs. Patton is survived by two daughters and sonsin- law Wanda Denise and Trevor Gribble of McMinnville, and Sonja and Edd Walker of Walling, two grandsons and spouse, Garrett and Karly Walker of McMinnville, and Grant Walker of Chattanooga, great-grandson Drake Walker, sister Brenda Mitchell of Sparta, brother and sister-in-law Larry David and Becky Miller of Campaign, sister-in-law Deloris Miller of Rock Island, brother-in-law Murl George of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service and interment was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Steve Breedlove officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
