McMinnville resident and Watertown native Betty Jean Campbell Sweeton, 74, was born Aug. 5, 1939 and died July 21 at her residence following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Foodtown Plus and member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Orville Campbell and Virginia Lee Campbell. She was married July 7, 1982 to Tommy D. Sweeton, who preceded her in death June 12, 1994. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Clark and Jimmy Randal Sweeton.
Mrs. Sweeton is survived by two daughters, Becky (Richard) Ross and Carolyn (William) Fults, both of McMinnville; two sons, Dewayne (Lori) Sweeten of Morrison and Johnny Sweeton of Rock Island; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Paul) Watts of Nashville; two brothers, Wendall (Mary) Campbell of White House, and Roger (Debbie) Campbell of Smyrna, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Tony Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High’s.
