Bessie Davis, 94, died Sept. 12.
She was born June 30, 1921 in McMinnville to the late Isaac Hampilton and Eliza Evaline Webb.
She was a 1939 graduate of McMinnville Central High School. She married the late Harry Clyde Davis on May 23, 1943 while he was serving in World War II in the United States Army. After his military service, they moved to Michigan where he went to work for the Olin Chemical Corporation. In 1951, they transferred to Brandenburg where Olin Chemicals opened a new plant. Together they opened Davis Flower Shop in 1959. When Mr. Davis died in 1997, Bess continued to run the flower shop alone until 2011. 
Bess was a devoted member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers Villa Eugene Webb Sr., and Edwin Eldon Webb.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Dorothy O’Neal Webb of McMinnville and Evelynn Hoff of Hamburg, N.Y.; six nieces and nephews, Villa Eugene Webb Jr., Dorothy Pearl Briggs, Vilas Elaine (Phillip) Lappin, Teresa Gale (Morris) Hillis, all of McMinnville; Julius Garry (Dedra) Webb of Brentwood; and Lindas Doraine Enman of Etna, Maine; special friends, Garry Hockman, Darrell Simmons, Donna Reed, Mary Coghill, and Gwen Wardrip Mills.
Visitation will be at Brandenburg United Methodist Church on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
