Benny Ray Roberts, 67, of McMinnville, died Monday, Dec. 4, at The Webb House of McMinnville.
He was born July 19, 1950 in Cookeville, was a retired meter technician with 37 years of service at Caney Fork Electric Cooperative, and was recently inducted into the Mid-South Metering Association’s Hall of Fame. He attended Concord Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father M.J. Roberts and brother Terry Roberts.
Survivors include wife Glenda Foster Roberts, mother Billie Roberts, sons Matthew Jared Roberts and Joshua Ray (Robyn) Roberts, grandson Abraham Ray Roberts, brothers Marty (Sara) Roberts, Randall (Carren) Roberts, and Paul (Amy) Roberts, and sister-in-law Beverly Roberts. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Gary Webb, Joshua Roberts, and Richie Knowles will officiate. Employees and retirees of Caney Fork Electric are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Fuston Cemetery. The Roberts family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fuston Cemetery Fund, the Dibrell Memorial Museum, or to the McMinnville-Warren County Senior Center.
