Ben E. McCormick, 83, of Rock Island died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at his residence after an extended illness.He was born in McMinnville on July 20, 1930, the son of the late Cora (Slaughter) and Eligia McCormick. He attended the Baptist Church. He worked for the city of McMinnville Street Department where he retired after 33 years.Mr. McCormick is survived by his nephew and wife, John R. and Terri J. McCormick of Rock Island; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
