McMinnville resident and native Beatrice Prater, 86, died Nov. 18 at her home after an extended illness.Retired from McMinnville Garment Factory and a member of Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Della Roberts and Basker Harrison Prater, and was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Prater Sr.; sister, Flora Dell Prater; and brothers, Robert Lee Prater and John B. Prater.She is survived by sons, Allen and wife Bonnie Prater of McMinnville, Gary M. and wife Judy Prater of Winter Haven, Fla.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Gardens of Memory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
