McMinnville resident and Muncie, Ind., native Barry Kent Stroud, 63, was born Jan. 3, 1954 and died Aug. 6 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a short illness.Retired from A.O. Smith, a United States Air Force veteran of Vietnam, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James G. and Betty Ruth Denton Stroud.He was married on April 2, 1977 to Barbara Jo Grove Stroud of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Carl Stroud of Michigan; two sisters, Brenda Bond of McMinnville and Toni Gullett of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Tony Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at High’s.
