Ann Berna Whiles, 90, was born in Bronx, N.Y., on April 8, 1929 and went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 12.

She was a homemaker and loved all her family dearly. Mrs. Whiles was a former member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in McMinnville, current member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Old Hickory, TN and daughter of the late Demetrio and Anna Minetti Berna. She was married June 30, 1956 to Lester Whiles, who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 12 siblings.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dave Barrows of Eufaula, AL and Faye and Leslie Mayhan of Gallatin, sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Brenda Whiles of Morrison, Lester and Karen Whiles of Gordonsville, George Whiles of McMinnville and Steve Whiles of Madison, grandchildren and spouses, Rodney and Detra Whiles and Ginger and Craig Sinks, all of McMinnville, Codey and Ailema Whiles of Virginia, Justin and Kim Martinmas of Murfreesboro, and Spencer Mayhan of Gallatin; great-grandchildren Ashton Whiles, Maggy Whiles, Annie Joe Sinks, Daisy Sinks, Beatrice Sinks and Mia Whiles, sister Camille Heraghty of Michigan; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a eulogy from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Stephen’s in Old Hickory. Graveside service and interment will follow at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Morrison Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
