Amanda Lee Davis Starr, 44, a native of Warren County, was born July 6, 1978 and passed peacefully from this life Aug. 14, 2022 at NHC in Dickson. Amanda is survived by her parents, Lotty Davis Glenn and Timothy Grant Davis. Also surviving is Sterling Davis Starr, the “apple of her eye,” and what Amanda called her greatest achievement; as well as Sterling’s father, Kenny Starr (Stacy); brothers Timothy and Matthew Davis; grandmother Betty Jo Glenn; aunts Lesa Duvall (Jim), Lorie Gretzinger-Pierce (Jimmy), Bridgette Davis Powers (Greg); uncle Ben Davis (Rebecca); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandfather, George Thomas Glenn; grandparents Don and Betty Davis; great grandparents J.T. and Hazel Martin, A.O. (Red) and Nannie Lee Glenn, Columbus and Mamie Lee Blaylock and Minnie Elva Davis.
Amanda was a Christian and spent her younger years going to gospel singings with The Off Keys and later with The Spiritual Heirs. From elementary school forward, she had lifelong friendships with a group of ladies affectionately called “The Nerd Herd.” These elite women are Lesley Nash, Lacey Nash Jackson, Lisa Roberts Smith, Dana Young Woodside, Lori Young, Melanie Milstead, Holly Grissom Bushart, Stephanie Campbell Newby and Crystal Hibdon. They will be honorary pall bearers at a celebration of life on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited. Officiating the service at Martin Chapel, 110 Market Street, McMinnville will be Pastor Carol Ann Richardson. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association or The Hope Center of Warren County.
