A.L. “Lawayne” Cooper, 81, a McMinnville resident and Marshall County, Ala., native was born July 10, 1932 and died Sept. 25 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.He was a retired employee of Burroughs-Ross-Colville, a member of Berea Church of Christ and son of the late, Jessie Arvin and Gwendelyn Viola Whitehead Cooper.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Carolyn Green Cooper; four brothers, Lelon, Jerry, Wendell and Arthell Cooper; and brother-in-law, Bobby Lefevers.He was married June 29, 1963 to Dora Elizabeth Lefevers Cooper, who survives. He is also survived by four children and spouses, Elaine and Julius Tittsworth, Michael and Cindy Cooper and Jerry and Ramona Cooper, all of Rock Island, and Ricky and Evelyn Cooper of Duncan, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Cooper of McMinnville; nephew, Chris Cooper of McMinnville; several cousins and two great-nieces; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol and Stanley Poe of McMinnville; Toni Lefevers and David, and Judy Lefevers of the Shady Grove community.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with Richard Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at New Bybee Cemetery.
