McMinnville resident and Steele, Mo., native Al F. Frakes, 94, was born Aug. 14, 1919 and died Aug. 31 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.A gospel minister in Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee, a retired Insurance agent and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde and Lula Stiver Frakes. He was married to Thelma L. Morrison Frakes, who preceded him in death Dec. 15, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Martha Morrison; grandson, Freddie Alan Frakes; three brothers, Albert, Clyde and Pete, and sister, Virginia.He is survived by a son, Al (Mary) Frakes Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Norma (Bob) Deason of McMinnville; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.A graveside service and interment were held Sunday, Sept. 1, at Gardens of Memory with Bob Deason officiating.High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard(McMinnville, Tenn.)
