McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Ada Josephine Butcher, 75, was born Oct. 1, 1942 and died Sept. 7 at her residence following an extended illness.Retired from Findlay Industries and a member of New Life Church, she was the daughter of the late Ivory Eugene and Jewell Cathy Savage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Greg Tate; daughter-in-law, Tammy Tate; two brothers, Landon Stanley and Orgie Stanley; and two sisters, Elizabeth Walling and Jewell Merriman.She is survived by two sons, Hershell Tate (Angie Pack) of Smithville, and Barry Tate (David Talbert) of McMinnville; daughter-in-law Cathy Tate of York, Pa.; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Etta Mae Williams of Murfreesboro, and Barbara (Richard) Tucker of Manchester.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at High’s Chapel with Derrick Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County.
