The third annual Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes, presented by Covenant Academy, will take place Saturday, Dec. 13 from 5 – 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $15 each, and are available at Covenant Academy, Hale’s Cleaners, Southern Traditions, Southern Style Salon, Wink Skincare and Roberts and Netherton Family and Implant Dentistry. Tickets can also be purchased at each location.
Homes on the tour include:
The Jessica and James Hines’ home, at 477 Grandy Road, was finished in 2009, and built using stone from Woodbury. Inside floors of walnut, maple, tile, travertine and marble are very warm and welcoming. Their furniture is a mixture of family heriloms, antiques and contemporary pieces. For the holidays, Jessica decorates with traditional colors of red, gold and green and loves to use fresh greenery from their nursery.
Tim and Mendie Wrather include their three children in their holiday decorating. They all have trees in their rooms that are original and one-of-a-kind. A piece of Christmas is on view in each room, either in handmade ornaments or holiday artwork provided by the creative family. The Wrather home is located at 300 Kings Pointe Lane.
The home of Trey and Terrie Kirby, at 914 Beckridge Road, reflects their love of family and of entertaining. The front kitchen/family den is decorated with two large snow trees, providing the perfect place for family gatherings. A tree in the living room is surrounded by family antiques and is decorated in traditional style with many hand blown ornaments and feature Terrie’s collection of Santas.
John and Claudia Simmons’ home, at 157 Travis Trail in the Brook Hollow area will also be on the tour showcasing their holiday decorating style.
“We are excited about the homes on this year's tour, with each having unique and festivie decorating styles and interesting histories,” said tour organizer Sara Northcutt.
