Pageants raise funds for Miss County Sunshine

Katie Sue Haggard claimed Country Sunshine’s Miss Sweetheart title in a presentation of pageants Saturday in the Morrison School gymnasium. 
The day of pageants started at noon with a baby show, proceeding throughout the day to the final Teen and Miss Sweetheart competitions. The pageants serve as a fundraiser for the Miss Country Sunshine event, which is a preliminary for the Miss Tennessee competition. Reigning Miss Country Sunshine MeryleAnne Dexter, and Outstanding Teen Allie Corzine were present at the event. Miss Chattanooga Jaclyn Torrento, a former Miss Country Sunshine, was the emcee for the pageants. Special guest Miss Nursery Capital Kaitlin Lawrence crowned the new titleholders. Robert Farr is the pageant director.
Haggard is a sophomore at Motlow State Community College, and is the 19-year-old daughter of David and Vicki Haggard. 
Joining her in the court are, Kelsey Taylor Lawrence, 17, daughter of Dena and David Upton, first runner-up; Carly Leeann Newby, 17, daughter of Manie and Rena Newby, second runner-up; and Katherine Jane Tubb, 17, daughter of John and Joy Tubb, third runner-up. 
Optional winners include: Katherine Tubb, people’s choice; Hannah Turner, most photogenic and best smile; Anna Cunningham, best hair; Jaclyn Medley, best eyes; and Caitlin Stoner, best dress.
The Teen Sweetheart title was bestowed on 14-year-old Morgan Faith Green. She is the daughter of Suzanne and Jon Harrison, and is a student at DeKalb Middle School.
Other court members are: Hannah Prater, 15, daughter of Heather Hayes, first runner-up; Brooklyn Paige Moats, 13, daughter of Hank and Tammy Moats, second runner-up; and Kaylin Prater Barrett, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Barrett, third runner-up. 
Optional winners in the Teen competition are: Hannah Prater, people’s choice; Morgan Green, most photogenic and best smile; MaKenzi Melton, best hair; Taylor Turner, best eyes; and Elizabeth Green, best dress.
Baby Show and Princess winners
Little miss Kelby Nunley, the 21- month-old daughter of Chris and Chandi Nunley, won the baby show title, with Kirtlynn Rose Brewer, daughter of Jordan and Kurt Brewer earning first runner-up.
Ava Jayne Watts, 2,  was named Toddler Princess. She is the  daughter of Josh and Erin Watts. Isabella Jean Foust, granddaughter of Vicki and Joseph Harris, was the second runner-up. 
The Tiny Princess crown went to Brooklyn Jade Turner, 5, daughter of Kevin and Amanda Turner. Second-runner-up honors went to Allison Paige Russ, daughter of Jeff and Rachel Russ. 
Arista Isabella Rigsby received the crown in the Little Princess category. She is the 8-year-old daughter of David and Tyroma Rigsby. First runner-up honors went to Breanna Gayle Daniel, daughter of Darren and Leslie Parson.
Winning the Preteen Princess title is Andrea Shannon McCormick. The 11-year-old is the daughter of Tracy and Brandi McCormick. Kinsey Burchett, daughter of Marlene Burchett, was named first runner-up.
