Rubies ministry gives back to those who serve

Care packages containing survival bracelets, crocheted scarves and letters of encouragement were sent to veterans, first responders, new recruits, wounded heroes, service members deployed overseas and their families as part of the Operation Gratitude project.
The Rubies Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church of McMinnville has selected Operation Gratitude as one if its missions for 2017. Operation Gratitude sends 200,000+ care packages annually to veterans, first responders, new recruits, wounded heroes, the care givers and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home. Care packages are filled with food, entertainment, hygiene and handmade items, plus personal letter of appreciation.The FBC group decided to make paracord “survival” bracelets, crocheted scarves, handwritten letters and coloring sheets from church members of all ages.
