Princess in Training is a non-competitive mentoring program for girls ages 5 – 12 to promote self-confidence and poise.
The sessions are presented by the Miss McMinnville Scholarship Pageant board members, and scheduled to take place Aug. 7-8, coinciding with the annual Miss McMinnville Pageants held at Warren County High School.
Miss McMinnville director Susan Burks said, “I feel this program is very beneficial for the girls. They will learn and have lots of fun. They will have amazing mentors throughout this two-day event and are sure to have the time of their little lives.”
The girls will have the opportunity to present a rose to a Miss McMinnville contestant during the evening gown competition, perform in a dance number during the pageant, and have a Princess Tea Party with the Miss McMinnville titleholders.
Some sessions will be conducted by titleholders, conveying the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community. Sessions will also include helpful walking tips and tricks, etiquette and manners, and information on how to write a thank-you note.
Participants will receive their own round crown at coronation, receive a Princess T-shirt, autographed queen photos and a photo shoot with professional photographer.
The McMinnville titleholders and contestants, along with Miss Tennessee, embody the four points of the Miss America crown – service, style, scholarship and success, and are wonderful role models for our daughters, organizers say.
The Princess in Training entry fee is $125 per girl, with a $25 discount for siblings. An early registration discount of $30 can be received by registering before July 18. The deadline to register is July 30.
