Organizations come together to provide coats for children

With Old Man Winter approaching, many kids in our community lack enough warm clothing to protect them in the cold.

That’s why the Rotary clubs of McMinnville have teamed with the Warren County Schools Family Resource Center and Junior Auxiliary in a joint project called Community Coats for Kids.

The goal is to collect new or gently used coats for children and distribute them through the Warren County Schools Family Resource Center located in the related arts building on the campus of Warren County Middle School.

Drop-offs can be made anytime during business hours at the following collection locations:

• Ben Lomand Telephone

• All WC School locations

• Family Resource Center

• Citizens Tri-County Bank

• Warren County Trustee

This will be an ongoing project for children of all ages needing protection from winter’s harsh temperatures. Simply walk into any of the collection locations listed above and drop off the coats and they will be transported to the Family Resource Center before being distributed to kids in need.

If you have questions about the coat drive, would like to donate or become a collection location, contact either Bobby Cox at 668-4022 or the Family Resource Center at 507-5180.
