Miss Country Sunshine Pageant Aug. 13

The Miss Country Sunshine and Miss Country Sunshine’s Outstanding Teen Pageants will take place on Aug. 13 in the auditorium of Warren Country High School. Both Miss Country Sunshine and Miss Country Sunshine’s Outstanding Teen are official Miss Tennessee, Miss America local preliminaries. Both titleholders will advance to the Miss Tennessee Pageant.
Miss Country Sunshine is open to young woman who are between the ages of 17 and 24,  must be at least be a senior in high school and graduate with the class of 2012. Contestants are judged on talent, fitness, evening wear, interview and on-stage question. There is no entry fee to enter Miss Country Sunshine, but contestants must register with Miss America and raise a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  
Contestants are also encouraged to have their own personal platform which they may promote during their year of service in addition to promoting the five Children’s Miracle Hospitals of Tennessee. As Miss Country Sunshine she will make numerous appearances in Warren County and visit the Children’s Miracle Hospitals. Miss Country Sunshine serves as the official representative for McMinnville and Warren County to the Miss Tennessee  Pageant. The winner of Miss Tennessee advances to the national Miss America Pageant.
Miss Country Sunshine’s Outstanding Teen is open to young women between the ages of 13-17, who are will not be a senior in high school during the 2011-2012 school year. Miss Country Sunshine’s Outstanding Teen contestants are judged on talent, fitness, interview, and evening wear and on-stage question. Contestants are also encouraged to have a personal platform she wants to promote during her year of service. She, too, will spend her year of service making appearances in Warren County as well as visiting the hospitals.
The Outstanding Teen will serve as the official teen representative for McMinnville and Warren County to the Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. The winner of that pageant advances to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. There is no entry fee to enter the event, but contestants must meet entry requirements.
On June 15-18, Miss Country Sunshine 2011 Jaclyn Torrento will officially represent McMinnville and Warren Country at the Miss Tennessee pageant which can be viewed live on the Internet. Jaclyn is a 19-year-old student at Belmont University majoring in entertainment industries. She is the daughter of Debra and Ross Torrento
