The 79th McGee family reunion was held Sunday, Aug. 25 at the fellowship hall at Shellsford Baptist Church.
The blessing for the food was given by Bro. Gene McClure, minister of the church. President of the reunion, Jane Allison, called the business meeting to order. Minutes from 2018 were distributed by Shirley Douglass, secretary of the reunion. They were approved.
August birthdays were recognized. It was actually Wade Melton’s birthday. Other birthdays in August were Mark Wildasin, Tyson Brock, Shirley Douglass, June McGee, Diane Pendergraph, Melissa Yancy, Bill Nelson, Becky McGee, Gracie Herrin, Kerrie Shockley, and Isaiah Shockley.
The youngest person in attendance was Wade James McColloch. The oldest person honor went to Willa Dean Savage.
Out-of-town relatives recognized were Gracie Sliger, Cookeville; Tiffany and Charlotte Traylor and Melissa Yancy, N.C.; John and Judith Dodson and Pam Goforth, Hixson; Jim, Sharon, Becky, and Jeff McGee, Nashville; Tom and Deb Langrehr, S.D.; Mark and Leta Wildasin, Franklin; and Mikah, Fran and Wake McColloch, Doyle.

A moment of silent prayer was followed by a prayer led by Tyson Brock.
A brief treasurer report was given by Shirley Douglass. Jimmy McGee, historian, had no new business.
In election of officers, the following were elected: president Jane Allison, vice president Dana McGowan, secretary and treasurer Shirley Douglass, general managers Diane Pendergraph and Dana McGowan, activity directors Donna Anderson and Angela Brock.
The time and place for the next reunion will be next year, the fourth Sunday in August at Shellsford Baptist Church fellowship hall. Closing prayer was given by Don Yancy.
