The Morrison Ruritan’s 2017 Little Miss Valentine Pageant will be held Saturday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Morrison School gymnasium. Rehearsal will be held the night before at 6 p.m. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the event, with a special evening planned by organizers.
Contestants must be between the ages of 3 and 6 years old and not be in first grade, but can be in kindergarten. They must live in the Morrison School area, have a grandparent or be related to their sponsor in the Morrison School area, have a business sponsor whose business is located in the Morrison School area or have a parent who teaches at Morrison School.
There are no restrictions on dress or make-up. A photo for the newspaper, along with the $25 sponsor fee must be turned in with the application on or before Friday, Feb. 10.
Applications can be picked up at any of the following locations: First National Bank in Morrison, Security Federal in Morrison, Homeland Community Bank in Morrison, Morrison School, Morrison City Hall, Morrison Public Library, Morrison Hardware, Ashley’s Attic, Kathy’s of McMinnville, McMinnville Flowers and Boutique and the Warren County Trustee’s office.
Applications must be turned in to Security Federal in Morrison or the Warren County Trustee’s office on or before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10.
The current titleholder is 6-year-old Ella Faith Kesey. She is the daughter of Clent and Lynette Kesey, and will crown this year’s winner.
Ruritan members are inviting all past winners to come and be part of the 50th celebration. All past winners will be recognized, with former queens wishing to attend to contact Cindy Holland at 931-235-4102, or 939-2540. All queens prior to 2011 need to provide a photograph for a slide show, and can contact Holland.
As a celebration of 50 years each contestant will receive a tiara and a goody bag. The Morrison Ruritan will also be awarding door prizes to guests in attendance.
