Healthy meals for all
1-Overall-cafeteria-pic
Approximately 577 students are served daily at the Warren County Middle School cafeteria. With both breakfast and lunch served, the cafeteria is a busy place at the school, requiring much organization to make it work. The implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision at all county schools provides every child two meals a day.
School lunches are ever changing – changing to meet government standards and to help our children achieve better health through nutritious foods. Through the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act championed by First Lady Michelle Obama, the USDA made some major changes in school meals. Ensuring students are offered fruits and vegetables every day, increasing the use of whole gain-rich foods, offering only fat-free or low-fat milk, limiting calories and reducing the amounts of saturated fat, trans fats and sodium are just a few of the improvements.
