A team of four Navy Seals led by Lt. Michael Murphy was on a mission in Afghanistan to kill a key Taliban leader when they found themselves surrounded by enemy troops.Pinned down, under heavy fire, and in desperate need of help, their distress signal could not be received because of the mountainous terrain. That’s when Lt. Murphy made the courageous decision to risk his life to move to open ground so their signal could be received. The move exposed him to enemy fire and cost him his life. Three of the four Navy Seals were killed -- with the fourth managing to escape and get rescued with severe injuries four days later.
