With 25 participants in the Smokin’ in McMinnville 5K Walk/Run, sponsored by the McMinnville-Warren County Senior Center, the endeavor has been termed a success.
“We were pleased with our first time with this type of event,” said center director Connie Smith. “We learned a few things from this experience and will make some changes in the future.”
Of the 25 participants, eight were 60 years or older, with the top time coming from Jeremy Kaiding in the 30-39 age bracket.

20-29 Female; Monica Reed – 31.35 and Male Matthew Bratcher – 20.52
30-39 Female; Misty Griffith – 32.14 and Male Jeremy Kaiding – 20.26
40-49 Female; Tammy Harmon – 38.47 and Male Grant Roach, 31.33
50-59 Female; Lorie Roach – 32.25 and Male Kelvin Douglas – 26.51
60-70 + Female; Wanda Nunley – 38.42 and Male Bruce Nunley – 38.43
“We would like to have our name to become affiliated with the 5K Walk/Run associated with Smokin’ in McMinnville,” said Smith. “And we are also very appreciative of our many sponsors and everything they did to make this a success.”
