Bonner FCE Club met June 6 at the Child Advocacy Center with six members in attendance.
Vice president Vita Gulley called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. The devotional was given by Brenda Blessings with the reading of “God’s Great Gift.”  Members stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was conducted by members naming a predator of caterpillars or butterflies. The reading of the May minutes was waived, and Linda Nixon gave the financial report.
Environmental leader chairman Linda Gerland gave her report on the environmental training she received in April. She also shared a home security assessment sheet for us to assess our home security and shared safety tips for when we are away from home.
Blessings shared information about her collection of gnomes, as well as a book on the subject. She and Gulley reported reading several books since the last meeting.
Dairy Day was held recently, with members bringing dishes containing two dairy items. Judging was conducted with winners earning monetary prizes.
Our county council meeting will be June 19 at 10 a.m. in the Magnolia Room, with the meal furnished by the Hickory Creek Club. Family life leader training will be June 28 at 10 a.m. in the 4-H room. Irene Fuston is our chair and will be attending this meeting.
May 15 was the Day of the Family and hopefully everyone got to spend time with their families.
Our next meeting will be on July 11 since our regular meeting day will fall on July 4. We will meet in the Dogwood Room at 11 a.m.
Following the meeting, the ladies at the Child Advocacy Center treated us to a delicious meal of chicken salad, crackers, dessert and drink. We had time for food and fellowship. We learned a lot about the center and discussed signs of child abuse we should be aware of.
Members provided items for the center as well as items for the Hamilton Street Activity Center.
