The Bonner FCE Club met at the residence of Teresa Priestley on Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. President Priestley welcomed nine members. Brenda Mitchell read an article “What If Jesus Came To Your Home.” Members then stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Our roll call was conducted by each member telling their favorite food made with cherries.
Minutes from the January meeting were read by Donna Dunlap and the financial report given by Linda Nixon.
We did not have an agent report. Linda Nixon and Connie York attended the recent Global Leaders meeting. They reported this year’s country for Global Day will be England. Members are to bring a food that is noted by England. Each club is to provide two desserts and a drink. Also each club will bring door prizes. Our club will be setting up the tables. After our meal, each member is to bring a tea cup for a high tea. Also members are asked to bring a wedding picture and members are to guess who the picture belongs to.
A reading report was given by Brenda Mitchell. She also gave a demonstration of how to prepare an emergency kit. She gave information as to what needs to be in these kits. Also Lisa Keener demonstrated how to make potato salad and gave everyone the recipe.
We received a thank you note from the Hamilton Street Activity Center for our donation in memory of our member Faye Hickey. We provided paper goods today for the center.
We will be preparing goody bags for the residents of the Fannie B’s Home and make a special delivery to them. Members volunteered as to what they would provide for the bags.
We decided our club would do another scrapbook. We voted to reimburse Priestley for materials she has purchased. We discussed our gold stars and updated these today.
Priestley gave everyone a pamphlet “Be A Smart Health Care Consumer,” and asked for us to look this over and try to do some of the suggestions.
We also discussed the upcoming visitation day, which we are in charge of. She has notified the other clubs presidents as to what they are to bring that day.
We closed our meeting by reciting the FCE Creed and Brenda did a blessing for our lunch. We adjourned for a delicious meal of soup, sandwiches and desserts. We had a time of food and fellowship.
