President Dian Greene conducted the July meeting of Midway FCEC recently at the Midway Community Center. She recognized guests Linda Fisher and Linda McDowell. Paula Barnes said a prayer, and gave the thought of the day from Psalms 28, “Don’t Tell Me What to Do.” Roll call was answered by 13 with the naming of a country to visit to observe native butterflies.
Vice president Betty Whitlock had a fun game taking five minutes to use our minds to come up with the names of a candy bar with a few clues. Family life leader Green gave a report “Life Hacks 2.0,” which includes procedures or actions that solves a problem, a simple task or reduce frustration in our everyday life.
Secretary Irene Fuston read the minutes from the previous meeting and they were approved. Treasurer Mary Rubley gave the financial report. Our healthy place challenges were returned to us, and reading reports were given by Greene, Barnes and Fuston.
Dairy Day was attended by Betty Grissom and Fuston, with Grissom’s green bean dish earning her a first place. Greene and Fuston attended the FCE County Council meeting and the county cultural arts. We will visit the McMinnville Boarding Home to treat the residents with cake and ice cream.
Members discussed the upcoming Warren County A&L Fair, coming up next month. We are encouraged to get busy to enter items in the various departments, and to make plans to work at the Country store on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Fuston will attend economics leader training on Aug. 23.
Jean Cantrell celebrated her birthday with a cake made by Elva Dean Bell and homemade ice cream. Everyone enjoyed burgers and fries with a variety of desserts.

vinson's crossroads
Vinson’s Crossroads FCEC met at Gondola’s at 11 a.m. on July 20. President Frances Hobbs called the meeting to order. New member, Sue Madaris, was welcomed to the club. All members recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was answered by the name of a country we would like to visit to observe the native butterflies with 11 members present.  
Secretary Lori Yates read the minutes from the June 15 meeting, and were approved. Sandra Blair gave the financial report. Hobbs and Blair read thank you notes from the Child Advocacy Center, and the Women’s Shelter.
The group discussed the meal for county council coming up in September.  We also discussed who would work the Country Store during the fair. A craft club for all members has been started, called Crafting Now. It will start in January. It will be held the first Monday of the month with exception of January it will be held on the first Tuesday.
Members will meet in the Magnolia Room to make feminine products for ladies in Somalia. Our next meeting will be held on Aug. 17 at 11 a.m., and will be going to the Fisher House. The Club Creed was read and then the meeting was adjourned.
