As a result of combining efforts and energy from area political candidates, the McMinnville Warren County Senior Center is $2,858 richer.

“We appreciate all the efforts from the candidates and attendees to make this Meet and Greet the Candidates a success,” said Senior Center director Connie Smith.  “It seemed a lot of folks had a good time, and the political candidates had the opportunity to interact with the seniors of the community.”

Candidates vying for the title of Circuit Court Clerk, County Executive, County Clerk, Sheriff, Register of Deeds, Trustee and District Commissioners were able to speak with visitors and answering their questions.

It really got fun when Donald Hillis conducted an auction featuring items provided by the candidates themselves. They could auction their item off themselves, or Hillis would do it for them.

“What I found amazing was how each candidate was friendly, respectful and supportive of their opponent,” said Smith. “A person would only find this in a warm, friendly and loving community as Warren County.”

The Senior Center is located at 809 Morrison Street, and provides numerous services to area senior citizens. More information can be obtained by calling 931-473-6559.
