Bratcher, Pope unite in wedlock

Mr. and Mrs. Alexis Sinclair Pope were wed Oct. 16 in an outdoor ceremony. She is the former Kelley Elizabeth Bratcher, and daughter of Jerry and Janie Bratcher.

Kelley Elizabeth Bratcher, daughter of Jerry and Janie Bratcher, became the bride of Alexis Sinclair Pope, son of Ralph Len and the late Laura Brown Pope of Chattanooga in nuptials held Oct. 15.
Brent Davis officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony held on a farm belonging to the bride’s family. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, and arrived at the ceremony riding in a horse-drawn carriage. She was resplendent in a gown of her design, and carried a bouquet of fresh sunflowers grown by her father for the special occasion. 
Haley Bratcher served her sister as maid of honor. Avila Sullenberger, the bride’s cousin, was her flower girl.
The bridegroom’s brother, Wesley Pope, was his best man, with Cooper Bingham, cousin of the bride, serving as ring bearer.
A reception to honor the newlyweds was held following the ceremony, with the 100 guests offering their best wishes.
The new Mrs. Pope is a graduate of Warren County High School, and Middle Tennessee State University, receiving a BA in Spanish and global studies. She earned a master’s in Spanish and teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is employed at Wilkes Community College in North Wilkesboro, N. Car. 
Her husband graduated from Roane County High School, and earned a BS in secondary education, followed by a master’s in instructional leadership from Tennessee Tech. He is now completing his dissertation at Tennessee State University in higher education administration. He is currently the admissions director at Appalachian State University in Boone, N. Car.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii, and are residing in Boone.
