Boxes of Georgia peaches will be available in July at Plaza Shopping Center.

Fresh Georgia Peaches are coming to McMinnville straight from the farm in July. The Georgia Peach Peddler will be set up at Plaza Shopping Center Wednesdays through Sundays from July 1–31. See below for the hours the peach stand will be open.

There will be three Georgia Peach size options.

1. $10 3-pound bag

2. $25 8-9 pound box

3. $45 25-pound box

Ten percent of all sales will go to support the Give Back Team in McMinnville which is an effort organized by Brad Durham, Southern Standard, and Warren County High School coaches and athletes to give back to the community with service projects once a month. The Give Back Team is also planning a Christmas party for underprivileged children.

McMinnville residents will want to taste these Georgia Peaches that were grown on peach trees from McMinnville nurseries. The peaches are from Fitzgerald Fruit Farms in Woodbury, Ga., which purchased its peach trees from two Warren County nurseries – Cumberland Valley Nursery and Vaughn Nursery.

Sean and Ashleigh Lennon own Fitzgerald Fruit Farms, and grow 30 varieties of peach trees because each variety is ready to harvest at a slightly different time. The window varies slightly, but the harvest season in Georgia is traditionally mid-June to mid-August. Georgia Peaches reach their peak flavor in July.

Fitzgerald Fruit Farms has approximately 70,000 peach trees. Each tree has to be touched by hand a minimum of three times each growing season – once to prune, once to thin by hand, and once to pick. The peaches at the Georgia Peach Peddler will have been picked 24-48 hours before they arrive in McMinnville twice per week.

You can reserve and purchase your Georgia Peaches now at www.givebackpeaches.com.
