People looking forward to the outdoor fitness equipment along the walking trail at McMinnville Civic Center have a little bit longer to wait.“We are going to try and get the equipment installed before the end of the year,” said McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department director Scott McCord. The department has $8,000 in its budget for fiscal year 2015-16 for outdoor exercise equipment that will be evenly placed along the walking trail behind the facility so people can achieve an overall workout because the various machines target the lower body, upper body and core, not to mention cardiovascular and weight-based strength exercises.McCord says the equipment uses a person’s own weight as resistance and is ideal for beginners and individuals who struggle to find the time or money to attend a regular gym. “These are machines that use your own weight. There are different kinds of equipment that you can get.
