SMITHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Middle Tennessee woman has died after the car she was in went down a boat ramp and into a lake.

The DeKalb County sheriff's office says a deputy and two detectives went into the water and pulled 40-year-old Nancy Randolph of Putnam County out of water that was 10 to 15 feet deep.

Two other people told officials they were also in the car but that the woman had not gotten out before it ran off Johnson Chapel Boat Ramp into Center Hill Lake.

The sheriff's office says emergency medical workers treated Randolph, who was pronounced dead at DeKalb Community Hospital. The other two people, whose names weren't released, were treated at the scene.

The sheriff's office said the investigation was continuing and no other information was being released.
