Two pedestrians were run over by a careening car in the Walmart parking lot Friday afternoon when the 89-year-old driver lost control while traveling in reverse.Landon Vann, 19, was airlifted following the 12:15 p.m. accident, while his girlfriend, Gabryelle Bounds, 19 was transported to Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.It’s not known why the driver of the Chevy Malibu, 89-year-old Loto Jean Scott of 301 Morrison Street, barreled through the parking lot out of control.“She was backing out of her parking space and we’re not sure why the vehicle accelerated,” said McMinnville police officer Bobby Anderson. “It accelerated in reverse and looped around and around. The couple was walking out of Walmart when they were hit.
