The Wildcat 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is being held this Saturday, April 27, at 8 a.m. at Dibrell Elementary as a fundraiser for the school’s archery program.
“We hope to have lots of participants,” said teacher Tina Mullins. “We think our entry fee of $10 for students and $15 for adults is very reasonable. This is a fundraiser for our archery team. They will be competing in Louisville, Ky., at national competition in May. We are very excited for them.”
Race entries will be accepted at the race check-in at the entrance to Dibrell Elementary, 1759 Mike Muncey Road, off Smithville Highway on Saturday morning.
All participants who pre-registered before April 15 must check in at 7:30 a.m. All other participants must register at 7 a.m. on race day.
The race will begin promptly at 8 a.m. rain or shine in front of the school. The course will be a simple out-and-back, traveling on the gently rolling hills of Mike Muncey Road south toward McMinnville then back again.
Age group awards will be given along with awards for overall best times in the 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run.
Registration fees are $10 for students in grades K-8 and $15 for adults.
