Wilburns to perform at WCHS

If you want to hear Southern gospel music at its finest, mark Jan. 25 on your calendar.
That’s when the highly acclaimed father and son team of Jonathan and Jordan Wilburn will be entertaining at the Warren County High School auditorium. The performance starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 each, or $15 for couples.
The concert is serving as a fundraiser for the activity fund at Generations. The money will allow Generations clients to go on field trips, such as the recent ice show at Opryland.
“It gives them an opportunity to get out and do things and stay active,” said Generations employee Jim Ramsey. “Kidd Ford and First Baptist Smartt paid for these guys to come perform locally so all the money from ticket sales will go entirely to the activity fund. It doesn’t go to Generations. It will go to the clients.”
Before forming Wilburn & Wilburn, Jonathan anchored the lead vocal position with Gold City for 12 years. Gold City is one of the biggest names in the gospel recording industry.
Since Jonathan has combined with his son, Jordan, the two have produced a magical harmony. They received the 2012 group of the year award by the Singing News.
Tickets can be purchased at First Baptist Smartt, Kidd Ford, or the Generations corporate office.
