Widespread Panic to perform locally

If you’ve seen them at Bonnaroo, here’s a chance to catch Widespread Panic in a whole new atmosphere – underground.The producers of “Bluegrass Underground” have announced a special concert taping with Widespread Panic on Monday, March 10 at 7 p.m.The concert will be a totally acoustic performance and be taped 333-feet underground in the Volcano Room of Cumberland Caverns at the foot of Harrison Ferry Mountain. The performance will air nationally on PBS this fall.Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.“The cave is such a great place for music, I want to expand it and have shows there for all genres,” said “Bluegrass Underground” creator and executive producer Todd Mayo. “I believe if it’s great music, it belongs in Cumberland Caverns.
