A man faces felony charges after he allegedly pulled a shotgun on his girlfriend and held her hostage before she was able to climb out a window to freedom. The suspect, James N. White, 38, stands charged with false imprisonment, aggravated domestic assault and preventing a 911 call.He is charged after he refused to let his girlfriend leave their residence.“She said he had been drinking and smoking marijuana all evening,” said McMinnville policewoman Katelyn Neal of the victim’s side of the story, noting White told the woman that neither of them were leaving the residence. The victim said she went to her son’s bedroom to pack his clothes as she was intent on leaving, regardless of what White demanded. However, while she was packing, White was doing some packing himself as he grabbed a shotgun and walked into the bedroom.“He pointed the shotgun at her and told her she was not leaving,” the officer revealed. The victim then tried to escape through a window but the suspect grabbed her and pulled her back into the apartment. He then drew a knife and told her that he was “going to show you” when she tried to escape again through the window.Despite the threats, the woman was eventually able to crawl out a window.
