Today is Arbor Day and there is no place better to celebrate than in Tree City at McMinnville’s legendary “Birthing Tree.” Pictured here are local mothers and their children, from left, Gracie Brown, Teagen Hill, Brittany Hill, Ledger Hill, Kenzi Ferrell, Samantha Ferrell and Kirra Ferrell. Local folklore recounts stories of many travelers and early pioneers being born at the tree. The gigantic white oak is 81 feet tall and 130 feet wide.
