Warren County High School band members went a little rock n’ roll recently as they made a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio to play a concert in the hallowed halls of the museum.“It was fantastic,” said Warren County band director Duane Farnham of the band’s trip to the Hall of Fame as well as a fun day at Cedar Point theme park. The full band, along with its rock band, performed several songs with the full band doing “Ride,” “Tennessee Salute,” “Tribute to the Armed Services,” and “God Bless the USA.” Meanwhile the rock band, which features about 15 members of the concert band and includes guitars and vocals along with horns and percussion, performed “My Way,” “I’m Yours,” and “Rock City.”Farnham said the idea to make the Hall of Fame the band’s major trip this season came after the new rock band was formed from the concert band. Applications were then sent in and the band was accepted to present a performance at the museum.“It was a great experience for the band, getting to perform there,” Farnham said. “After the performance, we took a tour of the Hall of Fame and that was very fun.”The band conducted several fundraisers during the year so it could make the trip to the Hall of Fame and Cedar Point.
