Local Boy Scout Cole Crim, a member of Troop 120, recently built a sidewalk at the Warren County Senior Center as his Eagle Scout project.Crim, 17, is a 2011 WCHS graduate who chose to attend Sullivan University in Louisville, Ky.For his project, Crim chose to build a sidewalk between the Senior Center and the thrift shop next door to make it safer and more convenient for patrons. Cole says his dad, John, suggested the project.“It sounded like a good idea and I thought it could really help the senior citizens here,” Cole said. “It’s going to make it a lot easier to travel between the two buildings.”Several fellow scouts, family and friends showed up on a hot August day to help Cole with his project or provided materials and help beforehand, including Cole’s dad and his brother, Quinn, along with Kaleb Pelham, Matthew Perry, Carol Pelham, Ruthie Terry, Ethan Campbell, T.K. Austin, and Rodney Cimino.Bruce Jacobs is Cole’s troop leader, and his dad acts as assistant.“It shows their dedication, shows they’re motivated to do something for their community,” his dad said, noting achieving Eagle rank is not an easy task.
