The VFW is giving the public a chance to help those in need this Saturday when it has its annual flag pin sale downtown.“We will begin collecting at 7 a.m. in the downtown area at various locations,” said VFW general manager Carolyn Burch. “We will be selling the pins for donations so it’s whatever a person wants to give.”Burch said the proceeds go to the many charitable works VFW Post 5064 does. They are having the sale on Armed Forces Day.“We have a lot of veterans here who we try to help as much as we can,” Burch said, noting the money raised will go into the fund to help people locally.
