Usilton free after choking teenager

A man has been released on time served for choking a 14-year-old boy.The defendant, George Alvin Usilton Jr., 27, entered a guilty plea to the lesser charge of child abuse and was given an 11-month, 29-day sentence by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke but released on time served. He was granted a judicial diversion meaning his criminal record will be erased once his year on probation is over. He will also be required to attend anger management.Usilton was originally charged with aggravated child abuse which is a felony carrying eight to 12 years in prison.He was charged after he choked the 14-year-old during an argument.“Mr. Usilton became aggressive and picked the boy up off the ground while choking him leaving red marks around his neck,” McMinnville policeman Chris Hutchins said in his warrant against the man.
