Clergy and members from an assortment of denominations joined together in an hour of prayer Thursday, locally assembling at the Farmer’s Market to participate in the National Day of Prayer.“We need to put our differences aside,” declared DeWayne Howard of Bridges of Hope Fellowship as he called for revival in Warren County. “We sit back in our comfortable churches while people are dying and going to Hell.”Howard said it is time for churches to join together for the common good.“We can’t agree on everything but there is one thing we can all agree on and that’s Jesus,” Howard said noting ministers and lay persons need to put aside petty differences and work together to spread the good word.Locust Street Pastor Jeff Page pointed out that the family is under siege in modern America, forces attacking at every turn.“The family is God’s greatest institution,” Page said. “And, it’s for that reason the family is under attack by the enemy.”Page prayed that fathers and mothers would resolve to make their families more united.“I asked that you touch and strengthen our families,” Page prayed.Carol Ann Richardson, minister at Martin Chapel Outreach prayed for the schools.“Forgive us for not allowing your word in our schools,” Richardson prayed while asking a hedge of protection around those who attend and work at schools.
