Failure to yield caused a wreck at the bypass at Oriole Drive on Monday. According to McMinnville police officer Brent Hickerson, a maroon Kia Forte driven by 16-year-old Alicia Dehoyos was waiting to turn left at the red light when a 2017 silver Chevy Impala driven by 23-year-old Jordan Sewell was driving west on the bypass toward Morrison. Sewell came upon the traffic

light as it was turning yellow and Dehoyos failed to yield while turning left and the two vehicles collided. Sewell tried to swerve right to avoid the collision and ended up crashing into a fence. Hickerson says neither of the drivers were seriously injured and were not taken to the hospital by ambulance, but he advised them to get evaluated.
