The home of the John Black family on Golf Circle in the Newtown area was totally destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion and seeing flames shoot from the house. Mr. and Mrs. Black escaped the burning house without injury. The cause of the fire is not known.
