A Gath preschool student received an early Christmas present yesterday when her class party was treated to a special visitor – her father making his surprise return from the war in Afghanistan.“It’s the best thing anyone could ask for,” said Natalie Templeton, wife of U.S. Army Corporal Curt Templeton of her husband’s return home for the holidays.“We didn’t tell a lot of people and last night I stayed in Chattanooga before coming in this morning,” Corporal Templeton said of showing up unannounced during his daughter’s (Jhealynn) Christmas party in Ms. Janet Davis’ class at Gath Preschool. “I guess it kind of blew her mind when I walked in. She just kind of looked for a second until it registered.”Templeton is serving with the 172nd Infantry in Afghanistan where he has been for about six months.
