McMinnville matched an all-time high over the weekend when the temperature climbed to a scorching 106 degrees. And it was that hot three days straight. The 106-degree high temperature on Friday, Saturday and Sunday matched a record set in 1894, marking the only time in McMinnville history it’s been that hot. Just outside of Rock Island, the high Friday was 107. It is believed to be a record high temperature for Rock Island, although the National Weather Service does not have long-standing statistics for that area.Just down the road, Sparta set a new record at 108, and Smithville posted 105, also a new record.
