A teenager was injured Saturday evening when his motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming truck on Randal Hitchcock Road.The victim, Richard Crips, 15, was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of numerous injuries he suffered in the weekend crash.According to highway patrolman Ronnie Simmons, the wreck happened just after 6 p.m. Saturday on the secondary road located off Hennessee Bridge Road in the Mud Creek area. The preliminary investigation revealed Crips was riding a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle without a helmet when he entered the road and ran into the path of an oncoming Ford pickup driven by Trey Cole, 16.Evidence at the scene suggests Crips was traveling east but in the westbound lane of travel, while Cole was traveling west. The wreck happened at the crest of a hill giving both drivers limited visibility just prior to the crash.
