Serious injury was miraculously avoided Saturday afternoon when two vehicles collided – and one flipped – on Sparta Highway.The accident happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Sparta Highway and Goodbar Road.Jeffrey Lynn Owen, 46, is to blame, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Owen was driving a Honda CRV on Goodbar Road and attempting to cross Sparta Highway.Owen made it halfway across safely, but didn’t pay close enough attention as he tried to make it the rest of the way. He pulled into the path of a Ford Ranger driven by Guadalupe Terrazas who was traveling toward Rock Island.The pickup of Terrazus, which was traveling at highway speeds and did not brake before impact, hit the CRV of Owen in T-bone fashion, sending the CRV flipping through the air.
