NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Nashville police say two men they caught had more than 14,000 prescription pills taken in a pharmacy robbery.

The armed robbery occurred at a Rite Aid pharmacy in Old Hickory Sunday evening. Police Capt. Kenneth Walburn told The Tennessean 27-year-old John Stewart jumped over a counter and filled a trash bag with pills and about $500 in cash. Police said Stewart then got into a car with 26-year-old Matthew Chrisman and fled the pharmacy parking lot.

Stewart fled on foot when police pulled over the car in Madison, but a K-9 unit subdued him.

Police charged both men with aggravated robbery after finding the pills and cash in the car. Stewart was also charged with evading arrest.
