Suspected shooter arrested out of county

The man believed to have shot Jesse Palmer on Memorial Day has been taken into custody.

Lorezo Brown, 32, was arrested without incident Sunday night in Bedford County and has been transported back to McMinnville. He is currently in Warren County Jail.

“Thanks to all who contributed to his apprehension without incident,” said a post on the McMinnville Police Department Facebook page.

Police had asked for tips to the whereabouts of Brown, 32, after taking out a warrant for his arrest for attempted homicide for shooting Palmer, 21.

The incident took place on Lyndon Street last Monday night at 10:15 p.m. Lyndon Street is located off Old Morrison Road and the shooting occurred at a McMinnville Housing Authority home.

Palmer suffered a significant injury from the gunshot wound, according to McMinnville Police, and was airlifted.

Police have not revealed if there was a dispute that preceded the shooting.
